I.  Introduction/Rationale

The Salesian Missions, Inc. was primarily established as a non-stock, non-profit religious institution that will engaged in evangelical and charitable works in the Philippines.

In September 1989, it was approved and registered by the Securities and Exchange Commission as a non-stock, non-profit corporation.   Its main address is located in Section 5, Don Bosco & Mary Help of Christians Streets, Better Living Subdivision, Barangay Don Bosco, Parañaque City, Metro Manila, Philippines.

The main activities involve in sourcing funds locally through various modes of solicitations like letter writing, sponsorships of a variety of events such as musical concerts, run racing events, book launching, etc. all geared towards supporting the financial needs of the congregation of the Salesian Society of St. John Bosco in its work for the young especially the poorer ones with the main objectives of evangelization and education.

While there are thousands of poor children living in the Philippines, the Salesian Missions, Inc. directly contributes to the activities of the congregation of the Salesian Society of St. John Bosco as a means to sustain the needs of the children mostly unable to receive education particularly the school drop-outs and support the basic needs of the street children and the formation of Salesians in their religious life.

Every appeal that is written and sent to the donors connotes a sense of evangelization as sharing of man’s treasure is a distinct message from the Gospel and loving our neighbors as ourselves brings about the mission that each of the donors live out with their constant concern and support to the appeal of the Salesian Missions directed towards the needs of the street children, out-of-school youth and migrant young men and women.

Salesian Missions, Inc. is a resource center of the Salesian Society of St. John Bosco intended to support its programs and services to the young especially the poor. Its generated funds are directed for youth assistance particularly seminary support, basic needs and educational scholarships with value formation programs and faculty development.

With the setting up of the Salesian Missions, Inc. thousands of young people have greatly benefited the various programs planned and implemented by the Salesians of Don Bosco in the Philippines. These programs have led the young especially the poor to aspire for greater things in defiance of their being poor and underprivileged.

This Handbook of the Salesian Missions, Inc. will serve as guide in the systematic, promotion, organization and registration.   may, from time to time make revisions and additions to this Handbook and such revisions must be incorporated herein.


II. Vision, Mission and Goals/Objectives of the agency


We, in the Salesian Mission, envision the young as servant leaders in the Church of the Poor, giving them opportunities to be honest and productive citizens as agents of change in social transformation.


Faithful to the charism of St. John Bosco, we raise funds for the Evangelization work of the Salesians in the integral formation and socio-economic transformation of the poor and abandoned youth through quality education and innovative youth development programmes.

Goals / Objectives

  1. To support the projects and activities of the Salesian Society of Saint John Bosco in the various Don Bosco Training Centers, Formation Houses, Schools and Parishes in providing the youth with social, moral formation and personal discipline and as well as technical vocational education and training.
  2. To provide financial support to poor but deserving young men in the stages of formation through educational scholarships or financial aid.
  3. To help the institution for the destitute and orphans in its maintenance and operation by equipping and providing moral and material support.
  4. To intensify the Organization’s financial capability through modest solicitations and acceptance of donations from both local and foreign donors.


III.  Clientele/Beneficiaries

The direct clientele of the Salesian Missions, Inc. is the Salesian Society of St. John Bosco that supports the works of its Don Bosco Youth Centers, Don Bosco Seminaries, Missionaries, Street Children Centers and the Don Bosco Training Centers that cater to the needs of the out-of-school youth and poor street children.

Salesian Missions Inc. covers the following regional areas of National Capital Region; Region III (Central Luzon Region); Region IV, (Calabarzon); Region V (Bicol Province).
